This time I decided to try the on-line study through the University of Illinois Extension.
It seems to cover a lot of what my book covers. I have a book and worksheet from taking my test three years ago also.
I am just curious if anyone else in Illinois has tried this yet and what did you think of it? I doubt that the Illinois Dept of Ag ever offers the exam on-line but it sure would be nice. Can you provide a link to the study course?
I wonder if it offers the Commercial applicator on-line study also? Seems it should so we can get into the 20th Century. Looks like Extension says it's about 4.5 hr study course. Bold letters tell you you have to go somewhere to take the test, not on-line.
I would hope they would add the commercial version also. St of IL is broke, US Govt is broke & sequestration demands that everyone cut xx%. On-line study guides would be a good way to start, plus get better qualified applicators. Old man didn't miss any questions.
Is somewhat lengthy if you listen to the reader. I would recommend it as it follows questions really well. Very easy to stop and pick up where you left off and I think signing up last for a year. Ok just wondering how can the be sure your not using the book for the correct answers, at the renewal session, they give every other person a different test so no one cheats, not saying you would, but what is keeping someone from looking up the correct answer? Ok should have done this first I went to the site and its a study site but you still have to take the test in person thanks for the site guide. I was the first one done at Utica back in Dec.
And watch the guy in the back an he would turn the machine on and run the key through then run a through someones answer sheet. If he had more than one he just ran the next one through. I watch him do maybe 25 guys while waiting for others i was with and he only ever used one key. I was having trouble reading the book and falling asleep in the evenings after work and started doing a google search and came across it. For some reason I can stay awake and read a computer screen. I looked and don't see a course for a commercial operator. I would call your extension office and ask them. Wasn't really sure about spending the $15 on it, but I think it was worth it.
I have a book and study guide, but I learn better by listening than by reading. Seems like when I read something I tend to glaze over and most of it doesn't sink in. Listening to the reader on line did take a long time, but I felt like it did do a good job of presenting the information that was on the test.
